Sharpened Macro Images

The macro function on a camera enables the camera to be within inches of a subject when taking a picture. Sharpening a picture makes the lines finer and .... well... sharper.

Visual Puns

A visual pun is a play on words using pictures. The visual puns I did were Gatorade, Deviled Egg, and Flower Bulb.

Rule Of Thirds

I took these pictures on the campus of the College of William and Mary. It was difficult to use the Rule of Thirds. Using Rule of Thirds, the camera creates a 3x3 grid. The subject of the photograph is supposed to be on the intersecting lines of the grid off to the side.

Jumping Off The Page

To make the popcorn look like it was jumping off the page I used varying sizes of popcorn to create the illusion that the some of the pieces were closer than others. One way to make the image look like it was coming off the page  (which I did not use) was to use the perspective tool to angle the picture. To create the shadow behind the popcorn I put a drop shadow on the layer.

Kaleidoscope

For the Kaleidoscope project I took a picture and flipped it 45 degrees. then I used the rectangular marquee to delete half the picture. Next I duplicated the half I had left and flipped it to the other side. Then I used the rulers to split the picture into fourths. Then I used the rectangular marquee to select the top left corner and copied and pasted it. Then I flipped it and put it in the white space. I continued this for the other corners. Then I took that finished picture and duplicated it then flipped it horizontally and vertically 3 different times to make a kaleidoscope effect.

For the last kaleidoscope I used the same process except I painted the picture using brushes in photoshop.
